Common types and characteristics of transition joints

According to the connection method

Welded type: This transition joint is usually used in scenarios that require high-strength connections, such as transition joints welded between aluminum alloy superstructures and steel main hulls. Welded transition joints can provide good connection strength, but have high requirements for welding process. If the welding process is not well controlled, it may affect the performance of the joint. For example, factors such as welding interface temperature will affect the bonding performance of the aluminum-steel interface.

Flared type: Commonly used in hydraulic systems and other fields. The flared transition joint is relatively easy to install by flaring the end of the pipe and then connecting it to the joint, but it has high requirements for the flaring quality and sealing of the pipe.

Card sleeve type: It is more common in pipeline connections in hydraulic systems. The ferrule-type transition joint uses a ferrule to fasten the pipe to the joint, which has good sealing performance and connection reliability, but the quality of the ferrule and the standardization of the installation will affect the overall performance of the joint.

According to the application scenario
Pipeline transition joints: such as PE steel-plastic transition joints, are mainly used for the connection between pipes of different materials (such as PE pipes and steel pipes) or different specifications. It is necessary to consider the use function of the pipe, prevent leakage, ensure water quality and other factors. In the water supply network in the building, the layout of the pipeline transition joints must take into account multiple needs such as fire water supply and hot water supply.

Cable transition joints: Mainly used for the connection between cables of different specifications and models, it plays an important connection role in the electrical system. It is necessary to ensure that the connected cables can transmit power or signals normally and meet relevant requirements such as electrical safety.
