Classification by shape
Straight-through transition joint: This is the most direct and simple transition joint. It is similar to an ordinary pipe. It mainly connects two unconnected endpoints and is in a horizontal state. The connecting part basically maintains the original pipeline line direction unchanged. For example, it is widely used in some relatively straight-line pipeline connection scenarios. For example, in the long-distance straight-line laying of water pipelines, if two sections of pipeline specifications are different, a straight-through transition joint can be used for connection.


Three-way transition joint: This joint has three connection ends in different directions, which can connect pipes from three directions, and these three directions are usually perpendicular to each other. In life, three-way transition joints may be used for pipeline connections in places such as corners. It can connect pipes from three different directions, which is very conducive to multi-angle connections in complex pipeline systems. For example, it plays a role in the three-in-one pipeline layout of water, electricity and ventilation in buildings, so that various pipelines can intersect and connect without interfering with each other.


Right-angle joint (angle-bend transition joint): As the name suggests, part of the structure of the joint is in a right-angle shape, which can connect two pipes in different planes. This transition joint is often needed for water pipes or other pipes in corners, pipe bends, etc., so that vertical water pipes can be horizontally unfolded through right-angle joints, which saves space and is very convenient. For example, in the indoor drainage pipe system of a building, if the branch pipes from the floor main pipe vertically downward need to be horizontally transferred to the drain outlets such as sinks and toilets, the right-angle joint can well achieve this conversion connection.


45° joint: used when pipes need to be connected at a specific angle, it can connect two pipes at a 45° angle. Compared with the right-angle joint, it is more suitable for some scenarios with special requirements for space utilization or pressure loss. For example, in some chemical pipeline systems with special fluid transportation requirements, if the pipes need to be connected obliquely to match the process layout or reduce pressure loss, the 45° joint may play a role.


Classification by implementation standards
Metric transition joint: a transition joint manufactured in accordance with the metric standard system. Metric standards are widely used in most countries and regions in the world. This joint is very common in hydraulic equipment, pipeline systems and some industrial equipment connections used in our daily local area. Its nominal size, thread specifications, performance parameters, etc. are all designed and produced according to the metric unit system.


American transition joint: a transition joint made according to American standards. The United States has its own unique technical standard system in the fields of industrial manufacturing, etc. American transition joints are commonly used in the connection of equipment produced in the United States or designed and exported according to American standards. Due to the differences between the American system and the metric system in terms of unit conversion, size specifications, manufacturing tolerances, etc., special attention should be paid to matching when connecting with equipment or pipelines under the metric system.


British joint: a type of joint manufactured according to British standards. It is used in some British-related industrial systems or areas and fields where British equipment standards are used historically, such as infrastructure in some old Commonwealth countries and regions, such as water supply and drainage pipeline systems. If transition connections are involved during maintenance or renovation, British transition joints may be required. Moreover, in the international maritime field, British specifications are also used in the layout of pipeline systems on some ships.


Japanese joint: a transition joint produced according to relevant Japanese standards. Japan has formed its own unique standard system in automobile manufacturing, precision machining and related industrial supporting equipment manufacturing. Japanese transition joints are commonly used in the connection of pipeline systems originating from Japan or compatible with Japanese equipment, and may be used in fine pipelines and connecting lines in automobile and electronic product manufacturing.


Classification by thread type
External thread transition joint: The external thread structure of the joint can be connected to a connection port with a corresponding internal thread. This structure is commonly used in some connection scenarios that need to be tightened from the outside, such as with a nut or directly screwed into a pipe interface or equipment interface with an internal thread hole.


Internal thread transition joint: A transition joint with an internal thread structure, whose internal thread is used to connect to other pipe fittings or equipment connection ends with external threads. It is often used in situations where the threads need to be tightened and fixed internally after plug-in connection.
