What is the sealing form of hydraulic adapters?

Oct 04, 2024

Hydraulic adapters are one of the important components in modern industrial production. It is a connecting component that converts various pressure, flow, and other information in the hydraulic oil pipeline into hydraulic oil for transmission, playing an important role. The sealing form of hydraulic connectors is one of the important factors determining the service life and performance of hydraulic adapters.

1.Sealing form of hydraulic adapter

The sealing forms of hydraulic adapters are divided into three categories, namely O-ring seal, cone seal, and flat seal. According to different sealing methods, hydraulic adapters also have different designs and manufacturing.

1. O-type seal

O-ring seal is the most common sealing method in hydraulic fittings. O-type seals usually use a section of annular silicone sealing ring, which compresses the inner and outer parts of the adapter and achieves the sealing and transmission of hydraulic oil in the hydraulic adapter through the compression of the sealing ring. Due to its simple structure, good rigidity, and reliable sealing, O-ring seals are widely used in various hydraulic adapters and pipeline connections.

2. Cone seal

Cone sealing is another common sealing method for hydraulic adapters. Cone sealing has the characteristics of high compression force and good sealing effect. Usually, a combination of a conical surface and a sealing gasket is used, and the conical surface and gasket can be replaced after wear. Cone sealing is commonly used in situations with high sealing requirements, such as the connection of high-pressure pipelines.

3. Flat seal

Flat sealing is the third type of sealing method for hydraulic adapters. Flat seals are simple and easy to manufacture, but their sealing effect is not as ideal as O-ring seals and cone seals, so they are often used in situations that require low pressure, no pulsation, and low medium requirements.

2, Applicable occasions of hydraulic joint sealing form

1. O-type seal
O-type seals are suitable for low temperature, low pressure, and low-speed applications. Although this type of joint has a good sealing effect, its sealing ring has a relatively short lifespan and is easily damaged.

2. Cone seal
Cone sealing is suitable for situations where temperature, pressure, and speed are within a moderate range. The sealing effect of this type of joint is good, and the sealing ring has a long service life. Of course, this type of joint has better wear resistance and sealing performance than O-ring seals, but the cost is also slightly higher.

3. Flat seal
Flat sealing is suitable for situations where temperature, pressure, and speed are relatively low. This type of joint is more suitable for the transportation of liquefied gases, water, and other media.
